His little story sounds like a scene from a very annoying movie. LOL

This is a very stupid thread that should be locked. Racing on the highway is a good way to kill someone, I don't care how late at night it is. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lockd.gif)

QUOTE (truelove24 @ Sep 19 2009, 02:07 AM) *
So tonight i went to highway 100 in milwaukee and saw quite a few nice cars nissan r35 gtr mazda rx7s and toyota supras, lambos and ferrai's and so forth. I did atempt to race thous but the just kinda growled at me in a way to say dont even start. The cars i did actully get to race were honda hatchback's, honda accord, acura integra, toyota celica, older mr2's and a couple of old boats. For the most part besides the turbo cars I raced, I burned them all. I really did not think my 3.1l beretta could beat those cars since they are so light and rev a hell of alot higher than my beretta. The truth is from my opinon that berettas as funny to alot people they are (especially the little honda rice burners) are faster and cheaper than a crappy honda this guy driving his civic was so pissed that I kept walking him and ripping on his little fart cannon exhaust he want to try all different ways to race. Rolling starts at different speeds, heads up it was just rediculus the last time I raced his sorry excuse for streetracer he wanted to be within his powerband cause supposivly he never was. so the race went like this.

roll from 45mph

I let him count to 3 so he could get the head start

Ihad it in 3rd

he takes off

I slam on the gas

he starts walking a little bit

i get into my powerband

rocket passed him and with the quick glimse that i take while flying passed was his face pissed off saying NOOOO and his girlfriend smiling as i pass. To piss him off even more when we got to the next stop light I blew a kiss at his girl and got a very genorous finger from the guy.

streetracing is my passion my be illegal but i live for the rush.

my motto is "drive it like you stole it"

Because your a noob, you like to street race and you use the dumb saying drive it like you stole it.

Was'nt it snowing then too. you always drag race in 5 foot of snow. LOL

I have to add my $0.02 about the "drive it like you stole it"

A couple years ago I was driving my pretty much stock Z26 and I got pulled over by the famous Utah Police. Got pulled over for illegal tint. (20%) Anyways...I had to wait on the side of the road and wait for 30 minutes for the drug dog to get to where I was. The cop said that since I had tint I was most likely transporting drugs.

Lets make this very clear about our cars. lol. I love my car the style, the memories, etc.

BUT...If I was selling drugs why the F*** would I be driving a Beretta let alone with the stock Z26 rims. I would at least have 22"s on it. lol. I told the cop that and he looked confused. I told him I was going to BFest in Denver. He had to "verify" my story with Atiim (aka Jokerz26) and the www.beretta.net stickers on our cars. LOL

My point is..."drive it like you stole it" but no one is going to steal a Beretta. LOL

The saying "drive it like you stole it" is just a dumb saying that immature high school kids say when they think they are cool.

"streetracing is my passion my be illegal but i live for the rush." What an idiot. You sound like Vin Diesel...."i live my life a quarter mile at a time." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/new_rofl.gif)

Well most people who sell drugs probably dont drive berettas or cars like that when they a erdoing other things. But i seriously doubt that someone transporting is going to do it in their escalade with 26s, because if they were pulled over in that on hte highway and they dont look like they belong in it they'll definately get searched.

As far as this guy goes, he needs to replace the phrase "drive it like you stole it" with "I live my life a pair of cuffs at a time, nothing else matters not the arrest the conviction the sentence and all that bullshut, for those 17 seconds or more....im free"

I've heard a few good stories about Beretta and drug running... I got pulled over once and the police wanted to search my stock z26 too...

Also, street racing can be fun... in my town, there's this light at this intersection to this bridge... now the speed limit in town is 30 but as soon as you get on the bridge it becomes 55... the bridge is 4 lanes- 2 per side with a shoulder on each side large enough for another lane of traffic... Its about 1/4 mile long and everyone races on it... the idea is wait at light and go when it hits green then you race until you get to the next light... at the end of the bridge... races are mostly at night when there aren't any other cars or traffic... I agree that street racing is dangerous but is much less dangerous when you have responsible drivers racing on a straight-away. it gets dangerous when the drivers aren't responsible or on roads that have turns, especially if one driver is trying to pass another and if you're racing through lights, stop signs and crosswalks.

and I call BULL on that story. there is no way you saw "quite a few nice cars nissan r35 gtr mazda rx7s and toyota supras, lambos and ferrai's and so forth" "s" implies that you saw more than 1 of each which you didnt because there is no way that they were all out this one night in one area.

here's what happens when you "drive it like you stole it". friday night i watched 3 dead kids get pulled out of an obliterated alero, because they were "driving like they stole it". doing 80 down a main road in the middle of the night, not much traffic, but the only time a car came, they lost control and was t-boned by an oncoming dodge dakota.

Old thread or not i have to chime in... i lived ON HWY 100 for 15 years... Country Gate Apts.. which became Ascot place.. Which is now Whitnall Pointe... any rate... I can only remember very damn few times seeing ferarri's and lambo's on that road.. and never at the same time HELL even Nissan 35g's as you call them (snicker Those are infiniti's)
are not prevelant in the area... perhaps you should turn off your in vehicle dvd player.

Now on to the kids defense... we have all done stupid (IMG:http://bstuff.com/style_emoticons/default/100.gif) and pointing out his stupidity in itself is not entirely bad.. we don't have to be that mean ---- screw it; we do: kid you are a moron , it's one thing to burn them off at the light.. or to take a quick blip up to sixty from the light if the speed limit is 55 but I remember every ##### weekend the ambulances screaming down the road because some twerp thought he was nigel mansel (showing my age) and it is heavily patroled now.. cruising is now illegal on hwy 100 has been for years, the cops would have broke that up before it even began. yeah lets do 110 on a road with a 35-40 mph limit where all the soccer moms live with kids you sir are a ####

***OK Rant Over***

My turn... First to one degree or another, I agree with most of the criticisms on this guy and his Post. Still, it is overdone.

A. -He said nissan r35 gtr (he meant R35 GTR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/54.gif) ) -as in 'R35 Skyline GTR' -this is a very rare JDM, very non-U.S. car, it is one of the Holy Grails of the street-race world, he did not mean the Infiniti. I saw one just a month ago (I was just outside of London at the time, though... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ).
B. -It is possible that those cars could pop up together, if there was some kind of meet, and RX7s and Supras are not all that rare.
C. -Street-racing is illegal and comparitively stupid, sure, but to all of those pinning this kid's back to the wall for it, do any of you EVER speed? To the guy driving 5 over the limit, the other driver who adheres perfectly to the speed-limit is a slow-poke moron. To the I-put-my-car-on-cruise-control-to-drive-the-limit guy, 5 MPH over the limit is insanely fast and reckless. It is all in your perspective.
D. -Get a grip -he is getting a 'rush to live for' from a stock Beretta? Let's be glad he isn't in a fast car... Street-racing a slower car up to 60 MPH, how dangerous is that? But it can still be fun, and a gratifying win, I guess.
E. -Don't listen to me, and disregard this entire Post as insane squirrel chatter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) -I've had my ZX-11 up to 150 MPH (it was finally starting to breathe), I've passed 100 MPH many, many times in a tight canyon road near my house, and I built my 3800 Super-Charged GTU without a speed-governor, so it will keep charging until it runs out of steam to fight the wind-resistance or hits red-line in fifth-gear, and I know that my '90 Turbo 'Retta tried to lift off the ground at ~90 MPH until I installed a decent spoiler, and now runs stable up to the 115 MPH governor (that car is being reworked right now, so further testing might be necessary in the future (IMG:style_emoticons/default/54.gif) ).
F. -Going fast doesn't mean being stupid, necessarily. It is possible to go really fast and still be responsible. Life is full of risk, so live it. (Now that is a good motto!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
G. -'Drive it like you stole it' -okay, yeah, idiot. Mechanic's dream, right there...

-Done, thanks, sorry.

No offense, but this OLD thread needs a big ol (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lockd.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/new_rofl.gif) ! It deserved a FAIL from the OP, IMO. However, it is still a fun enough way to kill a few minutes, so I guess it is as good as any junk thread. I don't think every post or thread on here needs to be self-redeeming: sometimes the entertainment value in a junk thread is just as good as the value for a good tech article. And just because a thread is old, doesn't mean it can't be fun to read through, so who cares when the OP was?
